September be Poppin' Hey to any single soul that reads these, FINALLY got access to this blog again. Shouts out to Taylor from Square support, you a real one. Progress is (finally) being made but I've had to take an alternate path to make headway. I am transitioning the game over to being a VR game since unfortunately, I'm going to have to scrap using Tobii eye tracking due to the fact I cannot get my hands on an eye tracker. I even reached out to support but they kindly let me know they get many requests like mine and could not help due to COVID as well as inventory stock being low, even on older devices. They did point me to the idea of 'Foveated Rendering' instead, which I am looking into and it looks promising! I should also mention I have scrapped Unreal Engine for Unity for sake of simplicity and time. Getting my Oculus Dev Kit 2 set up with Unity was pretty easy thanks to Valem's Tutorial on YouTube, and the touch controllers integrate too! So far I've just made a simple scene with a red cube to get my bearings on VR development. Now I just have to flesh out the physical level in Unity and give it a test run on my headset.
